Oh goodness

Dear Maggie,

Good to know.

The next step is to contact your travel agent, especially someone that can give you a good deal.

Please find out the cost of a return flight that will take to Singapore first, with a layover there of two days, and then a connecting flight to Surabaya. Please explain to your travel agent that the itinerary must be round trip, including the Singapore-Surabaya portion.

I think it is best to avoid transit or going through Hong Kong since they have had cases of swine flu there.

For your layover in Singapore, we suggest the Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel. It is near the airport; they offer shuttle service to the city centre and also to the airport. It is a nice hotel and convenient, especially for the rraveler.

I believe that your travel agent will have suggestions and can get you agood package deal, airfare and hotel. For the connecting flight to Surabaya, there are many options: Garuda Indonesia, Silk Air Singapore, Jetstar Asia are some of the more popular carriers.

Please do not make any bookings at this time but send us the information as soon as it is available to you so that we can approve it. As per posting, we will be responsible for 50% of the cost of the airfare and accommodations in Singapore.

Regards,
Jacqueline Tjandrawidjaja
