MOTION EDITORIALS?

FUTUR3 P3RF3CT:

http://www.thecontributingeditor.com/2010/04/futur3-p3rf3ct/

This is too weird for life.
Also, no amount of blurring can distract the fact that he is wearing heels in that one picture where he's pulling up the shirt/dress thing.
ALSO, why is he so greasey looking? Are people in the future perpetually shiny?

Wtf sub-conscious?

Last night I had a dream about killer unicorns. There was a herd of them that abducted a girl and I had to save her. I would be wandering through the woods trying to track them, and keep finding the corpses dead unicorns with huge horse bite-marks in their necks because they kept attacking one another.

So fucking weird.

H&M Fashion Against AIDS

So when I said I haven't found the rest of the campaign yet... it was because I didn't look very hard. haha.
Also wtf, Lou Doillon is in this?!

Here's some more info on the campaign, and the rest of the images:

H&M casts Josh Beech for this year’s Fashion Against Aids campaign. Celebrating their third season raising funds for fashion against aids, H&M is launching its first festival collection, with 25% of sales going to youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects. Offered through their Divided line, the limited range will encompass the festival experience with garments and accessories that even go as far as to include sleeping bags. As H&M’s head of design, Ann-Sofie Johansson explained, “For me, festivals are unique and inspirational places as they join both music and fashion. To see your favourite bands, to see creative people gathered, all from different nations and with different looks really inspires me. It is very important to make people aware of the problem with AIDS and HIV and we want to contribute in the fight against the disease by donating some of the sales from this collection.” Ultimately, the funds raised will assist Designers Against Aids and the NGO, who is responsible for bringing H&M’s attention to Fashion Against Aids.

FYI, for any who are interested, the man-gladiator sandals that Josh is wearing in the second image were received on Thursday at the H&M at Eaton Centre. I witnessed them being taken out of one of the totes.

pomp and circumstance

So I was talking with a friend of mine about men's hairstyles... and we started talking about the return of the Pompadour.
Upon googling for more images, I found that GQ did a feature on it.

J.Crew

The J.Crew Men's Fall 2010 collection is beautiful.
View the rest of the collection here.
If I was a man and couldn't afford Balmain, I would dress in this collection.
If I could afford it.

I think I'm more drawn to men's fashion because I'm really into rustic looks and clean lines... I know this exists in womens' clothes too, but it's so much more prominent in men's collections...

Balmain Homme

If I were a man, I'd imagine that this is what I would wear.
You know, if I had the cash for Balmain..

Also, I know I've been posting a lot about men's style/models lately, but I really enjoy looking at male models and men's style... sooooo, sorry if you're not into it.

Josh Beech for H&M Fashion Against AIDS Campaign

H&M casts Josh Beech for this year’s Fashion Against Aids campaign. For this campaign H&M is launching its first festival collection, with 25% of sales going to youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects.

I have yet to find the full campaign... HOWEVER, I do know that the jacket he is wearing in this photo is from the women's section, either in Hennes or in Divided, which is probably why it's styled with the sleeves rolled and pushed up (probably too short) and I know that there are similar ones on sale right now in Hennes for 50% off.

Kinda fierce tho..

The law discriminates against rape victims in a manner which would not be tolerated by victims of any other crime. In the following example, a holdup victim is asked questions similar in form to those usually asked a victim of rape.

“Mr. Smith, you were held up at gunpoint on the corner of 16th and Locust?”
“Yes.”
“Did you struggle with the robber?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“He was armed.”
“Then you made a conscious decision to comply with his demands rather than to resist?”
“Yes.”
“Did you scream? Cry out?”
“No. I was afraid.”
“I see. Have you ever been held up before?”
“No.”
“Have you ever given money away?”
“Yes, of course–”
“And did you do so willingly?”
“What are you getting at?”
“Well, let’s put it like this, Mr. Smith. You’ve given away money in the past–in fact, you have quite a reputation for philanthropy. How can we be sure that you weren’t contriving to have your money taken from you by force?”
“Listen, if I wanted–”
“Never mind. What time did this holdup take place, Mr. Smith?”
“About 11 p.m.”
“You were out on the streets at 11 p.m.? Doing what?”
“Just walking.”
“Just walking? You know it’s dangerous being out on the street that late at night. Weren’t you aware that you could have been held up?”
“I hadn’t thought about it.”
“What were you wearing at the time, Mr. Smith?”
“Let’s see. A suit. Yes, a suit.”
“An expensive suit?”
“Well–yes.”
“In other words, Mr. Smith, you were walking around the streets late at night in a suit that practically advertised the fact that you might be a good target for some easy money, isn’t that so? I mean, if we didn’t know better, Mr. Smith, we might even think you were asking for this to happen, mightn’t we?”
“Look, can’t we talkin about the past history of the guy who did this to me?”
“I’m afraid not, Mr. Smith. I don’t think you would want to violate his rights, now, would you?

Francisco Lachowski

I just want to go to NYC, bump into him and seduce him with my broken-ass Portuguese, and convince him to take me back to Brazil to go surfing with him in his hometown of Curitiba.

.
This is so inappropriate because I think he is only 18, but he is so nice to look at, IDK.

fml seriously

i didn't sleep last night because i wanted to finish my take home that's due on friday before today so i can use all of today and friday to study for my environmental exam that's on saturday, but i only ended up finishing 1 and a half essay questions out of 4.
i worked from 9:30-1:30, and i came home and took a 3 hour nap.
i JUST finished question number 2 and i have 2 more to go, and i have to get up early to deliver it (if i can get it done on time) before 5 to the anthropology department at york, because i am working 1-5 tmrw.
i don't think i am going to get any sleep tonight.
and if i manage to get ANY studying in tmrw for my exam on saturday (doubtful) it will be COMPLETELY FUCKING USELESS because i will have been running on 3 hours of sleep for the past 3 days, and i probably won't remember anything anyways.
i can already feel myself starting to ramble in my answers to the take home as a result of lack of sleep.

i want to post a missed connection!!!

subject: every thursday in class...

hi,

you spent the entire semester sitting directly behind me and getting acquainted with the back of my head. now that class is over, how about getting to know the other side (my face)?

HOW AWKWARD.

or

slightly less awkward:

early morning classes are not always conducive to conversation starting. the back of my head has never really been good at articulating anyways. i notice you coming in after me sometimes, and it strikes me that we sometimes wear really similar jackets. we should be friends!

or

SUPER AWKWARD:

we had class together every thursday morning, you always sit right behind me. i imagine you could probably feel my total mortification in our discussion on gender/nationality/ethnicity and asian female submissiveness. however much i may have rolled my eyes at our discussion of the white male fantasy of having a completely devoted and docile asian woman at their side, i will consider it if that's what you're into.

-your butterfly

My life is so... entertaining sometimes.

procrastination

"A would-be saboteur arrested today at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland made the bizarre claim that he was from the future. Eloi Cole, a strangely dressed young man, said that he had travelled back in time to prevent the LHC from destroying the world."

Okay, so it may or may not be an April Fool's thing, but before I realized that it was written on April 1, I was not 100% convinced that the guy was just some crazy.
What if he really was from the future? HOW WOULD YOU KNOW?!
Maybe the future WILL include Kit-Kats for everyone and resemble a communist chocolate hellhole, although I fail to understand how communism combined with chocolate could go so wrong as to be considered a hellhole.
