Question [tl;dr]

So during a photo critique in the second week of classes, this girl in my colour film photography class asked me if she could keep one of my prints because she thought it was one of the most amazing pictures she's ever seen.* it was a self-portrait of myself taken from the back, with a little bit of back lighting up near the head. i said yes, because hey, that's flattering for 2 reasons: 1) she likes a picture that i took, and 2) i was the one in the picture. also, because i figured since i have the negatives still, i can always just reprint it on 8 x 10 in the darkroom, no problem.
BUT because it's DARK in the darkroom, and i was printing another frame on the same negative strip, i somehow damaged the negative (a little) for that picture. it's been bent a little so when i print it it's got a little bit of a light refraction on an otherwise solid background, and i also can't seem to get the colour balance correct.
i haven't seen her in class since, but would it be rude to ask for the print back? i mean, i guess i could just scan it and then give the print back to her... but really i'd rather have the print because i stupidly messed up the negative, i don't think i can reprint it the way i want it even if i get it professionally done...

*exaggeration, she, in reality, said something along the lines of "i really really like this picture, do you mind if i keep it?"

Hairvetica

As has been repeatedly said in my Culture as Performance class, repugnance and fascination have become one and the same.
a.k.a. This is so gross, but yet kind of awesome at the same time....

Until you see this image...
And now you want to throw-up a little.

TWO THINGS

1. Alison Mosshart makes me weak in the knees, she is such a babe in so many ways. (Have you ever seen her perform live? It's amazing.. I almost died watching The Kills.)

2. Hedi Slimane not only is an amazing designer, but he also takes some super amazing photographs some of which also make my insides quiver.

POINT?
Okay so on my occasional perusal of Hedi Slimane's diary for photographic inspiration I find THIS:

I ALMOST CANNOT HANDLE IT.

Seriously if I can be HALF the photographer Hedi Slimane is.... I don't know, I'd be amazing. Or even like HALF as cool as Alison...

YOU GUYS

i know this was announced earlier this year (i.e. april/may, before i started working there..)
but how did i not know that this line (Divided Exclusive) existed?
i almost lost my mind and bought the leather jacket today, before i was slapped back to my senses by the $200 price tag.
most of these pieces minus the bodysuit and the .... foamish looking dress are at the h&m in the eaton centre.
there were also some shorts and leggings there that i saw were part of the line but don't have pictures of.

also, i almost bought a crushed velvet dress with cross-back detailing today... but i feel like it's way too high fashion for my life. opinions?

Cascade House

The Cascade house is located in the Forest Hill neighbourhood in Toronto and was designed by the Paul Raff Studio.
Who wants to be creepy and cruise by this house with me? It's so pretty!

Chanel

I've been dying all day waiting for images from Chanel to show up on style.com.
That being said.. Chanel was... very Chanel. So kudos to Lagerfeld for keeping it that way.
I'm not too big of a fan of any of the looks. They seemed kind of lolita-esque, which kind of creeps me out.
BUT, let me tell you how much I love the looks that were on Freja and Baptiste, and how they came out together (especially the last image!).

Freja is SUCH a babe. I have such a girl crush on her.

chloe 2010

I kind of really enjoy these looks from Chloe.
Not so much a fan of the other lighter, more girly looks (minus the dress right at the top), so I didn't include them but the ones here are pretty perfect.

Balmain s/s 2010

Everybody's talking about Balmain.
And for good reason.
They always do the best jackets, especially the ones on Daria (who opened and closed the show, the only one she walked this season...).
