political debates on facebook

I don't know why I engage in these. I usually read the stupid shit that people say and become too incensed to actually write a coherent reply, so I generally just ignore and keep scrollin'.
In some cases, when I'm feeling particularly articulate (most usually when I'm in the library... which probably has a lot more to do with procrastination than feeling articulate...) I will engage.

Example:I'm schoolin' everyone.

LOL Nasty Gal

This sweater.. is an EXACT copy of a sweater that I have from H&M.
A sweater that I paid $69.95 (minus 25% staff discount) for. At the time, even that seemed a little steep to me.
HOWEVER Nasty Gal is charging a ridiculous $108.00 for this cheap-looking knockoff. The knit looks a lot thinner than the one I have, and you can see the seam at the back where the pattern doesn't match up.
H&M probably copied this sweater from somewhere else with slight alterations to design, produced it with cheaper material, at a lower quality and sold it at a lower price than the original. What really gets me, is that Nasty Gal took this cheap copy and copied it, producing it with even cheaper material, at an even lower quality, and doubled the price.
Three things from this:

1) I am never buying anything from Nasty Gal.
2) Is there someone I can report this to?? Should I call headoffice and let them know?
3) LOL at the foolish people who buy this ridiculously priced knock off.

WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE KNOCK OFF H&M???

"Get in the bathtub! Be together!” Those were the orders given to Devendra Banhart and his girlfriend Rebecca Schwartz for today’s exclusive film, the director’s cut of a new campaign for eyewear company Oliver Peoples [...] In homage to French New Wave classics like Godard’s Une Femme Mariée, Eisner was determined to cast a real-life couple with genuine chemistry, to create “infatuated cant-keep-your-hands-off-each-other moments.” Psych-folk polyglot Banhart and his set designer paramour happily obliged, their liaison unfolding on staircases and shag carpets in the Rainbow House, architect John Lautner’s 1961 Los Angeles masterpiece."

How is this even fucking fair.
I mean look at them.

I love Devendra.

But this video only serves to remind me of 3 things:
1) That unfairly really really attractive people exist.
2) That I am single
3) That I will never be able to afford $400 glasses.

this outfit was speaking to me so hard until i realized that those were sequined shorts and not a velvet skirt.

let it be known that should i ever find a full velvet skirt, i will be snapping it up SO fast.
bonus points if it's crushed velvet.

oh and i suppose i have like 40 more minutes to do this.
but today is my birthday.
last year on this date, i got dressed up and wore an inappropriately short and tight skirt to my 8am class at york.
today i had class at 2pm and wore leggings as pants with wool socks and kamik boots i bought for $2 from quebec.
i am devolving.
in my defense i was wearing a shirt that was long enough to be considered a dress and a longish sweater....

never knew what going on a bender felt like until spending a couple days in montanita. the place is like a swirling vortex of drunken debauchery that sucks you in until you have no sense of time or what day of the week it is.
being back in Guayaquil will take some getting used to however I will only have 2 days here before having to get used to the even harsher reality of home. at least in guayaquil our detox period still involves drinking liquor out of a 2 litre fish bowl and drunkenly traipsing back to the apartment in beautiful warm weather. something I'll have to say goodbye to when I get home.
