check it

It's one of the garbage cans Mauricio and I commissioned for our work project in Manoel Viana!
It makes me incredibly happy and proud to see it still standing, and the front panel still intact after all the hard-fucking-work we did marching around town starting at 7am, harassing the mayor and local businesses to pitch in for these for 3 months. 9 months later and at least one of them is still around.. this is good news.
oh and i guess i should mention gabi, bel, thais and diogo who are also in this picture.

Beco

the cobra snake was at the club i went to in porto alegre.

i will never forget the cage/fence around the top floor. it saves lives.
i'm sure if i looked closely enough, i'd find the corner both me and my counterpart threw up in.
such a bonding experience.

OH HAI THAR

I love everything about this video.

ESPECIALLY A. Green jamming out on the couch.

I wasn't really sure it was him until I heard him start singing. I'd recognize his voice anywhere.

Yes, Anthony Green, I still love you. It's been years, and I haven't really followed with your bands in years, but my love for you will always remain.

/creepy

but omggggg I just flashed back to seeing Circa Survive at warped. amazing.

This is characteristically Eggers' work.

I probably shouldn't be reading his books so much, and watching this movie is probably not a good idea, but I can't help it.

One more year. I can hang on for one more year, and then I can go.

edit:

TMI, but i went out last night. hung out with people i never in life wouldve thought id end up hanging out with. drank and smoked way too much, and this morning i woke up around 6am and barfed the most heinous barf i have ever barfed in life. just thinking about it makes me queasy, and its been 12+ hours since its happened.

Where to Find....

First image from all for the mountain.
Second image from lj user dearyme on wiwt2.

Sooo if any of you happen to come across any of these items or a decent look-a-like (for less than a chunk of $175.00 on the part of the necklace) snap that shit up for me. I will pay you back, as well as owe you eternal materialistic consumer happiness.
(The shoes are Steve Madden, but so far I've only been able to find them in Black.)
THANK YOU

Joseph Gordon Levitt

Hey, remember when I used to hardcore crush on you when you were that weird alien kid on Third Rock from the Sun?
Yeah, it's still there.
BACK TO ESSAYING.

SPRING FEVER

augh, Devendra, get in my pants now.
I'm at work, slightly hung over and INCREDIBLY tired.
I had a dream about sam and this bespectacled american apparel hoody clad man who vaguely resembled my photography TA from last year. We were looking at art and discussing how different a certain painting looked from different perspectives.

It's such a fucking turn off when boys flirt badly. Or when they're completely obvious about it, yet feign subtlety.

This is incredibly fucked up. Because if I do this, I'd be doing exactly what I'm warning against. So what do I do? Turn it all off? Everything? Retreat?

Funny, the one time where things are working out the way I wanted them to, and the situation is almost perfect for what I've been telling myself I need... I stop thinking about myself (for once) and start to think of the implications for the other person involved.

My plans for the summer are also getting kind of complicated. I've been in contact with the Maple School in Indonesia, and although I haven't really heard anything confirming it yet, they seem to be interested in me going out there... but I kind of want to stay close to home this summer. But can I really in good conscience give up the opportunity to be paid to live in Indonesia for 3 months?
There's also the Equitas internship in Montreal that I've also interested in. I've fallen in love with Montreal, and interning with Equitas for a summer might lead to a full time position when I graduate. Parfait. Un raison pour demenager labas. One less thing I'll have to worry about when I do move out there when I'm done school.
This is all assuming that I get any of these positions. They might all not take me, and I will be stuck here trying to find another job for the summer.
Eh, life.

picture time

so yeah. there are more, but i won't subject you to them. they mostly consist of me making gross drunk kissy faces at everyone.

hi i am home. and (barely) alive.
i remember watching twilight in french on friday night. INTENSE.
i remember bumming around downtown montreal saturday and eating at a brazilian restaurant and talking to the owner in portuguese.
i remember going to korova and SUFFERING through some guys rapping during their soundcheck and then deciding to go to another club.
then i dont remember anything else. except maybe someone slapping me in the face, but i dont know if that really happened, or it was in my mind. i do recall having vodka spilled down my back.
i foggily can recall rolling out of bed sunday and schlepping around downtown for coffee/tea, going to mont-royal and lying (SLEEPING) in the grass listening to tam tams being played by hundreds of hippies, and the slight scent of patchouli wafting over us as other hippies ran around shaking their dreadlocks dancing to the beat. and waking up like 2 hours later sunburnt and with a sunglass tan.

i had an amazing time. i DREAM to be able to work in montreal during the summer.
it was surreal to be able to hang out/see almost everyone again. nothing has really changed. we're all the same people.
and that's really reassuring.
