whut

my newsfeed told me that one of my fb friends was tagged in an album entitled "memories of JCM" by someone i do not know. so, naturally, i creeped the album, and as i was going through it, i found this picture:

lmao. WHUT. why am i in this picture? am i holding a cigarette? what is going on with the toe of the guitarist in the back? where are we? it looks like we're sitting on a curb? i'm 100% sure that the hat that ashley is holding is not hers.
the caption on the photo is "campo do orientacao".
oh. que?!?
i wonder how many other pictures i appear in that i do not know about...

Whence Navajo Beauty Comes

For the Navajo, beauty is not so much in the eye of the beholder as it is in the mind of the creator and the creator’s relationship to the created (that is, the transformed or the organized.) The Navajo does not look for beauty; he generates it within himself and projects it onto the universe… Beauty is not ‘out there’ to be perceived by the perceptive and appreciative viewer; it is a creation of thought.

Christmas

The only purpose that Christmas serves is to make me hate my family even more.
Today, my mom came to pick us up at 9am to bring us to her house to hang out/bake/watch movies... which usually translates to us helping out at her house.
I opted to sleep through the pick-up time. Bitch move? I guess. But really, the idea of spending the day home alone is way more appealing to me than anything else.

My brothers are home now, and they won't even watch a movie with me =( =( they prefer to play their video games. Oh.
Both parents are working tmrw, so business as usual.
Christmas doesn't exist here. I am tempted to return the presents I bought my brothers, because really, I don't think they care... and I would rather use that money to eat and live off of.

I am poor in money and family. But I am rich in angst.

a golden filter

Sometimes I wish there was a golden filter in life. Something I can turn on and give my days and my outlook a little bit of a glow, make things warmer, putting a little faded vignette of gold around everything.

...drogas?

Today..

I was home alone allllllll day and it was GREAT.

First I ate a whole bunch of my failed macarons for breakfast/lunch (actually just 2 really really large ones),
then I baked lemon cupcakes filled with raspbery buttercream... (DELICIOUS),
then I watched food network and mythbusters...
then I made pasta for dinner... rotini with sauteed mushrooms and onions in a rosee sauce.
:D :D

I love being home alone. (with a well stocked kitchen...)

I also lined up buyers for 3 pairs of boots that I had lying around... and possibly made a profit from them.
AND I'm meeting up with Elliot when he blows through Toronto on his way to Pearson to go to Brazil ( :( ) mini reunion!

If only I could channel this productivity into stuff that really was important and needed to be done.

christmas list

haircut
socks (specifically wool boot socks -- pack of 4 for $10 @ walmart) [my brother has already informed me that he will not only buy me one pack but TWO. awesome.]
MATTE nail polish -- grey or jade, but i will certainly settle for a matte top coat so i can mattify all the colours i already have.

thats it.

oh and rings like the ones in the picture i posted of the girl with all the rings.
someone needs to tell me whereeeeeeee i can find rings like that. kensington and courage my love seems like the only place i'd be able to find something similiar.

this list also doubles as a birthday list.

ALSO, if you would like to help me with my grad school application this is free, and would mean the WORLD to me.

Themed Parties

(there are always an abundance of posts when I'm supposed to be studying/writing papers)

Post:
"Theme Parties
what is the best theme party you've ever been to? If you were going to have a theme party, what would the theme be? What themes are totally overrated?
i love drag parties. I went to a Communist Party earlier this year too and that was fun. I also hate graffiti parties."

"what the hell is a communist party"

"everyone gets together, makes some
alcohol then it is violently taken from them and redistributed."

hahaha omg. i loled for about 5 minutes over this.

procrastination

So check it.
Remember when I posted that awesomely amazing Alexander McQueen clutch ?

Well it turns out that if you don't want the clutch part, you can just have the rings.
And I thought I wanted the clutch really badly....

They also serve dual purposes as awesome jewelery and some pretty hefty (and stylish!) brass knuckles, totally justifying it's $550.00 price tag.
(I mean, in comparison, the clutch is $1595.00...)

So... if any of you are at a loss as to what to get me for Christmas or my birthday....

Dreamball

Unplug Design studio have come up with a design concept called dreamball. It’s all very simple: redesigning the United Nations aid packages so that they can easily be assembled into different sized balls.

via Colectiva
Kind of awesome in that it promotes sustainability - reusing the packages, but also in that when the food is gone, there's still something left. I just wonder how easy these things are to put together into balls.
