Flickr update

I'm sure most of you have already seen this, seeing as for some reason my flickr has been linked to my facebook... which I don't remember doing.
I probably linked it sometime when I was in Brazil, but failed to actually use it after that.
Anyways, I uploaded some test prints from my photography class the other day... the colours have been somewhat flattened because they were scanned into .pdf format, but whatever.

Assignment 5: Self-ish

Keywords: Greed, Passion, Servitude, Despair, Hope

In life we experience many conflicting emotions and urges, as well as their consequences. This assignment demands that you turn the camera inward in a self-reflexive mode and examine the consequences of your own life. Take the traditional ideas embedded within the tropes of self-portrait and make a visual statement that tells the world a secret that you have been keeping to yourself.

It is not necessary that you use yourself as a model in front of the camera, but you must pursue this alone with no assistance from friends or family. Intensely self-absorbed and pertaining only to you, make this your best possible work.

Use all the skills you have acquired in this course, applied rigorously through aesthetics, concepts and techniques.

Due: next week

Number of prints and final presentation will be as determined by your Tutorial Leader (or in our case, me as Course Director) in discussion with you.

Lucia, Luis y el lobo

Lucía is the 1st short video of the 2-part series “Lucía, Luis y el lobo” (”Lucía, Luis and the Wolf”). The video was shot frame by frame with a digital photo camera. Materials: charcoal, dirt, flowers, found objects and cardboard.

This video is awesome... and freaky as shit. Little kids whispering in Spanish is kind of creepy.

It's definitely no Fantasia, but it's just as trippy in its own right.


Destino is a short animated cartoon released in 2003 by The Walt Disney Company. Destino is unique in that its production originally began in 1945, 58 years before its eventual completion. The project was a collaboration between American animator Walt Disney and Spanish painter Salvador Dalí, and features music written by Mexican songwriter Armando Dominguez.
