wednesday night i headed out to see yelle, and more importantly grandmarnier.
we saw some tectonik dancers ("a world wide cultural phenomenon!") and some guys who wished/thought that they were tectonik dancers. and also a guy who felt he needed to tell us that he wasn't creepy, challenged sasha to a dance off, and tried to get into our cab at the end of the night.
also i bumped into a girl in the bathroom who recognized me from facebook photos. she works with a friend of mine, but the real question is WHY DO I ALWAYS MEET PEOPLE IN THE GIRLS BATHROOM AT OPERA HOUSE?
thursday we headed to the cobrasnake yardsale, which was pretty much one of the most awkward experiences of my life. the only redeeming part of it was a) i got a CYOA tshirt from heartsrevolution (and everytime i see it, i get CYOA stuck in my head), b) the beer vending machine (PBR for $2!), and c) i got to see the So Me Masterpiece, 2pac shak.p., in person.

mark the cobrasnake didnt show up till later i assume, but we left due to the intense feeling of being judged by the toronto hipster community, and went to burger king where i ate a poutine and managed to annoy the girl who was taking orders.
also present at the yardsale was a Corey Kennedy wannabe (no joke) who directed us upstairs when we wandered wearily past her in search for the sale.
thursday night was the main event, the cobra snake dance party, that didn't get started till about 12:3oish even though the doors opened at 9:00 and there was a band scheduled to play at 10.
things i found out/realized/that happened throughout the night:
- wrongbar is really nice
- the wallpaper had fuzzy griffins
- if you sit at the table closest to the bar you have a direct view into the mens bathroom
- matt sim's boyfriend was doing coat check and he was actually really sweet (and was probably confined to the coat check/ticket booth, because he's underage and not allowed in the actual venue)
- i broke a candleholder?cup? that was on the edge of the booth, pulling my jacket out when getting our stuff from coatcheck and he was like "you know what, hon? don't even worry about it!" i wish i was as self-assured when i was in highschool
- in the dark its really hard to distinguish one hipster from the other
- there was a guy that had the same clear framed wayfarers that i did (oh hey urban outfitters)
- the asian girls from the yardsale were also there
- corey kennedy was NOT there, however her toronto wannabe version WAS
- mark the cobrasnake showed up in a stupid tshirt, and even stupider looking pants (he looks like more of a douchebag irl. he is also v. short)
- the asian behind shark vs bear was also in attendance, definitely better dressed than mark the cobradouche

- heartsrevolution finally got on stage, and were pretty amazing, even though they played the shortest set ever. (ben is pretty cute)
- standing under intense strobe lights confuse the fuck out of me, and cause me to bump into everyone, and crash heads into sasha on numerous occasions
- you will only ever get your picture taken by the cobrasnake if a) you tell him you will suck his cock b) he wants you to suck his cock or c) you just happen to be in the frame when he holds his camera 3 feet away from his face and randomly presses the shutter release (this is how party pictures are taken guys!)
- calling mark the cobrasnake a photographer is a REALLY REALLY big stretch.
- i was dancing and this random dude with a point and shoot digital camera holds it out and flashes that shit in my face (hey, guys! he wants to be a party photographer too!)
- now there is a random guy that has what i'm pretty sure is the most unflattering picture that exists of me out there
- DORIAN AND MICHAEL FROM THE TEENAGERS SHOWED UP, fresh from their show at lee's
- i tried the cobrasnake's method of taking party pictures to stealthily obtain a picture of dorian, but i think i only succeeded in getting the back of his head (i will post this soon)
- this random hipster girl launched herself on dorian and succeeded in seducing him by holding onto his head and talking into his ear over the loud music, and moving from his ear to his mouth. he was so cute trying to get away from her, but gave in and agreed to leave with her, but not before untangling himself from her and frantically tapping on Michael's arm and speaking to him in rapid french (saying: hey, okay i am going to leave and bang this ugly slut so she'll leave me the fuck alone, brb ?)
- later on he introduced her as his girl "okay this eez my girl, eet eez nice to meet you"
- i love The Teenagers even more now. but esp dorian even if he left with some random fug slut. (she was fucking persistent!)
- i might be jealous that i didnt land him myself.
